We offer specialized fumigation of produce or other items for control of Stored Product Insects such as beetles, weevils, mites and moth prior to storage or export. We are licensed by MAAIF to carry out this kind of service.
The target area is completely sealed off and filled with the fumigant gas in order to destroy the pest infestation that exists. This method is mostly applied for Stored Product Insects such as beetles, flour moths and weevils in silos, packages and stacks; Wood Destroying Organisms such as certain termites (excluding subterranean termites), and wood borers as well as doing (preventative) fumigation of containers and / or packaging material for export purposes.
Fumigation is a serious undertaking and has to be performed by an experienced, reputable pest control company. It is important for industrial workplaces and commercial facilities to have an effective pest control management program in place, however, if a problem occurs – fumigation solutions may be necessary to eradicate the problem.
AMPLA Uganda is able to handle jobs of any size using recommended products on the market, regardless of the type of building or structure; stack or commodity that needs to be fumigated.
1. Clear away all debris
2. Remove infested material
3. Coat all cracks and crevices with protective pesticide
4. Ensure that there is a thorough sanitation program in place
5. Ensure that all commodities have been treated by a professional pest controller prior to storage. AMPLA Uganda can always offer such services.
What starts off as a single pest-infested product bought from the store, can quickly turn into a serious pantry pest infestation.
The longer pantry pests are left unattended and untreated, the more products they will damage, contaminate, boring through paper, plastic and even sealed containers.
Food commonly infested include: Cereal products, seeds, nuts, chocolate, raisins and other dried fruits, spices, powdered milk, tea, and cured meats. Non-food items include birdseed, dry pet food, ornamental seeds and dried plant displays, dried flowers, and garden seeds.
Each has a unique pattern of destruction, enabling identification and decision about the type of control needed.
1. Do not store food for longer than four months
2. Packaging wrapped in clear plastic can be checked for the presence of insects
3. Store food in airtight containers
4. Buy packaged food in sealed containers
5. Dried food can be stored in your fridge or freezer
6. Check the packaging date
7. Keep your pantry clean as exposed food will attract insects
1. Our highest priority is safety for people and property
2. We can address all your fumigation needs
3. We will ensure that no commodity/food is contaminated by the remedies
4. Our technicians are well trained by competent authorities and registered with the MAAIF in the field of fumigation
